Fredericton Delta Hotel
This new complex consisted of a 7 storey hotel with a total area of 16,000± m². The highrise portion of the structure was framed with flat slab concrete construction with seismic forces resisted by concrete shear walls in the buildings’ cores and stairwells. The single storey portion of the building was framed with structural steel. The building has a unique shape and a complex structural steel framed penthouse which called for innovation structural designs. As structural consultants, we were able to meet the intents of the Architect’s design by utilizing unique and sophisticated structural analysis and design while still keeping the structural costs within budget.
