Leo Hayes High School
This project consists of a new 2 storey 15,500± m² high school. The building was constructed using structural steel framing with braced frames to resist seismic loads. Compositely designed floors were used for economy, fire resistance and vibration resistance. The building featured a unique architectural design layout with a curved classroom wing, parabolically curved steel roof trusses over the gymnasia and a large atrium. As structural consultants, we were able to meet the intent of the Architect’s design by utilizing unique and sophisticated structural analysis and design while still keeping the structural costs under budget.
